Chris Brown’s Lawyer Wants Leaker’s Name

Remember that picture a gossip site ran showing a black-and-blue Rihanna after Chris Brown allegedly attacked her on February 8? Now Brown’s attorney wants to know who leaked the police photo to the press.

Attorney Mark Geragos filed a motion in Los Angeles on Wednesday seeking police personnel and investigative records.

In the filing, Geragos says he wants the documents to determine whether he can discredit or attack the credibility of police witnesses during a preliminary hearing scheduled in early June.

Geragos also stated in the court filing that he may seek a dismissal of the charges if the documents indicate any evidence of police misconduct, saying he believed a Los Angeles Police Department officer sold the photo to gossip site TMZ.

But no matter how the photo wound up on TMZ, Garagos says the purloined pic has damaged his client’s case.

“The purpose of the leak was necessarily for profit and to vilify Mr. Brown and poison the potential jury pool,” Geragos wrote.

The LAPD is also investigating on how the photo appeared on TMZ, but has not updated the public on its investigation.
