But shortly after finishing her set early Saturday morning, the blues singer said she wasn’t feeling well. What’s more, she was also slurring her words – never a good sign, especially when you’re 61-years-old.

So it was off to the hospital where doctors confirmed Wright had suffered a stroke.

As of Tuesday, Wright’s daughter, Gerry McKey said her mother remains hospitalized with limited movement on her right side. According to McKey, Wright, who also suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure, suffered a less severe stroke sometime in late May.

According to Wright’s manager, her June 19 show at Tipitina’s in New Orleans has been canceled and more dates might have to be nixed.

So far, no one from the artist’s camp has mentioned anything about whether the singer’s July 3 appearance at the in New Orleans, or her July 12 engagement at the in Antibes, France, will play as scheduled.
