Depeche Mode Reschedules

Depeche Mode has promised to reschedule four more of the indoor shows it missed due to singer Dave Gahan’s illness, but fans who bought tickets for some of the other canceled dates will have to settle for a refund.

New dates for the missed shows at Zagreb Arena (Croatia), which would have taken place May 21, London O2 Arena (May 30) and Dusseldorf LTU Arena (Germany, June 4-5) will be announced as soon as the itinerary is finalised.

Ticket holders are advised to hold onto to their original tickets, which will be valid for the rescheduled shows.

The June 2 show at Germany’s Hamburg HSH Nordbank Arena has already been slotted for July 1, and the July 2 Bergen Koengen date has been switched to Jan. 28, 2010, and moved indoors to the city’s Vestlandshallen. All original tickets remain valid.

The act issued a statement saying – apart from Zagreb – it hasn’t been possible to find a window in the diary to accommodate the shows in the May 12-27 run that started in The Balkans and went via Poland to The Baltics. Ticket holders have been told to return them to the point of purchase for a refund.
The shows were in Greece, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Poland, Latvia and Lithuania.

Gahan was taken ill just before he was due on stage at Athens Terra Vibe May 12, and later diagnosed as having a low-grade malignant tumour in his bladder. After a successful operation to remove the growth, he recuperated in time for the act to play a sold-out return at the 50,000-capacity Leipzig Zentral Stadium June 8.

Two days later at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium, DM followed up with another full house at the 65,000-capacity Berlin Olympic Stadium.

The rest of the summer tour is expected to continue as per the original schedule.
