Mr. McCartney Goes To Washington

For someone who isn’t officially “touring,” Paul McCartney sure is busy this summer as Macca adds yet another “one-off” to his calendar.

Earlier this year McCartney said he would not tour, but do a few dates here and there. The latest “here and there” show to be announced takes place just outside Washington, DC, in Landover, Md., August 1 at the home of the Washington Redskins – FedExField.

That brings the number of shows McCartney is doing in North America to five – July 11 in Halifax and July 17, 18 & 21 in New York City.

The D.C.-area appearance is special among Beatles historians. The Fab Four’s first concert on U.S. soil took place in 1964 at the Washington Coliseum.

“This will be a great concert by one of the world’s most-loved performers,” said Redskins and FedExField owner Daniel M. Snyder. “I’ve been a fan of Paul’s all my life, so it’s going to be a memorable night for us all.”

Tickets go on sale Friday, June 26 at 10 a.m. EDT. For more information, please click here for McCartney’s official Web site.
