Perez Hilton Twitters Alleged Will.I.Am Attack

Gossip blogger Perez Hilton claims he was assaulted outside a Toronto nightclub last night by will.i.am and the artist’s security guards.

Hilton, who was a presenter at last night’s MuchMusic Video Awards, says he was attacked by the Black Eyed Peas frontman early Monday morning outside the Cobra nightclub, according to the Toronto Star. At least, that’s what his tweets suggest.

That’s right. Tweets. As in Twitter. Apparently Hilton chose the latest social-networking craze to send out a digital distress call.

“I’m in shock. I need the police ASAP. Please come to the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel now. Please,” was Hilton’s first tweet to his followers, all of which are compiled on the MTV U.K. Web site.

Another message shortly followed:

“I was assaulted by will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.”

As copies of Hilton’s tweets made the news rounds, will.i.am created his own Twitter account denying the blogger’s allegations.

“I just made a Twitter account because it isn’t cool for someone to blame you and blast you with lies,” wrote the performer.

Along with using Twitter to counter Hilton’s allegations of assault, will.i.am also used YouTube to proclaim his innocence.

“I was the one that came to him with respect, and he was the one who called me a f***** outside the club,” the singer said in the vid.

The performer also questioned Hilton’s use of Twitter to send a distress call, say, instead of something a little more traditional – like calling the police.

“Sounds like somebody wants mad attention and is not really concerned about his health,” will.i.am said in the video. “Shame on you, shame on your behavior, and that’s just messed up.”
