Hilton Sues Peas’ Tour Manager, Tweets Mayer

The one-man self-publicizing machine known as Perez Hilton has fired off another round in his quest to bring a tour manager to justice. That is, when he’s not firing tweets in a Twitter war with John Mayer.

Unless you’ve been comatose for the past few days, or perhaps spending time in Argentina with the governor of South Carolina, you’re probably already aware of all the pain gossip blogger Hilton has experienced this week.

After all, how can you not pity someone who, after supposedly insulting will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas, was allegedly assaulted in Toronto by the group’s tour manager and then had to go all the way back to his hotel before he could Twitter his followers asking them to send the police to his aid.

Pretty heartbreaking, isn’t it? Especially when you consider most people possessing at least half a brainstem would probably go the old-school route of dialing 911.

Now Hilton has filed a lawsuit against Polo Molina, suing the tour manager for battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Hilton seeks unspecified damages of more than $25,000.

In the lawsuit, Hilton states he is protecting his rights to free speech, saying Molina allegedly attacked him after the gossip king dissed the Black Eyed Peas’ new album. Molina was arrested early Monday, charged with assault and is due in court on Aug. 5.

Yes, it’s been a busy week for Mr. Hilton. In addition to the alleged assault incident, he’s also been engaged in somewhat of a Twitter war with John Mayer.

As detailed at RollingStone.com, Mayer started the ruckus by tweeting, “I love that perezhilton uses his cellphone to log on to twitter to post a tweet to ask his followers to call the police for him.”

Mayer also tweeted that Perez’s video statement was “so long that by the end of it his cut healed,” causing Hilton to tweet back, “That’s real funny! Ha ha! And I’m sure you also think I ‘deserved’ to get hit!”

While Mayer and Hilton were exchanging Twitter salvos, actress Kirstie Alley got involved, probably because Hilton has trashed her in the past. That and, well, what else does she have to do?

Aiming a tweet at will.i.am, Alley told the Black Eyed Peas singer “whatever happened … you are my hero.” Kirstie also told Perez that in the future he must “only duke it out with lentils” and that he should “leave the Black Eyed Peas to the big boys.”

Yes, it’s all so tragic. Here we are, three days after the alleged assault that started it all, and Perez Hilton is still in the news. The only thing more disheartening is if Hilton isn’t in the news tomorrow, he’ll be sure to figure out a way get in headlines come Friday.
