Victory For Drifters Manager

Former Drifters manager Faye Treadwell won a recent court victory worth millions of dollars.

The 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia ruled Treadwell can seek damages from New York promoter Larry Marshak and his associates, who have promoted The Drifters since 2001.

Treadwell has fought a lengthy court battle over the name of the ’50s doo-wop group. Marshak promoted concerts featuring new members of The Drifters, The Platters and The Coasters.

Marshak had previously sued Treadwell, reportedly claiming he owned the trademark to The Drifters and she was using it in violation.

She countersued, claming Marshak obtained the trademark through fraud.
