A Fantastic, Great Paleo

New Paleo-Nyon Festival booker Dany Hassenstein says it was fantastic and his predecessor Seb Vuignier felt it was “a great six days,” after those who snapped up the 210,000 tickets within a day left smiling like they felt they’d got their money’s worth.

The 35,000 Saturday tickets for a bill headed by Francis Cabrel – a further example of the festival’s belief in French talent – and Tracy Chapman sold in 12 minutes.

Frauenfeld, the dance and hip-hop festival just outside Zurich, has the largest crowd with more than 40,000 per day, but Paleo – sited in the shadow of Mont Blanc – is still top of the pile when it comes to totting up the total number of visitors.

It inevitably sells out and the only issue is how long it will take.

The acts helping to turn the 34th Paleo-Nyon in to a fantastic great event July 21-26 included Placebo, Kaiser Chiefs, The Prodigy, Franz Ferdinand, Moby, Amy Macdonald, Fatboy Slim, White Lies and Bénabar.
