Due To Circumstances Beyond.…
Attention U2 fans: The band’s Friday, Sept. 25th gig at Giants Stadium in E. Rutherford, N.J., has been moved up a couple of days to Wednesday, September 23 – same stadium, same great New Jersey vibe.
This is one of those instances where other plans changed. The first domino to fall was the New York Jets football team, which changed the start time of its Sunday, Sept. 27 game from 4:15 p.m. to 1 p.m. out of respect for the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, which starts that evening.
How does this affect U2’s original Sept. 25 date? Turns out the tour needs a full two days to tear down the stage, and the originally scheduled Friday show was cutting things a little too close.
Tickets for the original Sept. 25 date will be honored. Refunds for fans not able to make the rescheduled date will be available starting Friday, Aug. 28 at the original point of purchase.
Food poisoning forced the Counting Crows to postpone last night’s show at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, N.J. Evidently frontman Adam Duritz ate something that was better left untouched. The band has rescheduled the date, which includes Augustana, for Sept. 1 at the Count Basie.
Blaming personal reasons, Maximo Park has canceled its North America tour originally scheduled to begin in September.
From the band’s Web site:
“We regret to inform you that, for personal reasons, we’ve had to cancel our tour of the USA and Canada, which was planned for September. We wholeheartedly apologize to everyone who was looking forward to seeing us perform and we will do everything we can to reschedule the shows. We’ve always enjoyed visiting North America in the past and are bitterly disappointed to be missing out this time. When we return, it’ll be with as much energy and passion as ever.”
