Born To Sell
Described as a “tiny bungalow,” the two bed/one bath measures 828 square feet and sits on a 25-foot by 95-foot lot in Long Branch, N.J., according to RedBankOrbit.com, which contacted real estate agent Susan McLaughlin, who described the property as “bigger than it looks.”
Apparently Springsteen lived there from 1974 to 1975. And, while you might expect the house to be located on a somewhat colorfully named drive like “Thunder Road,” “Backstreets,” or “10th Avenue Freeze Out,” the structure’s address is the rather pedestrian 7-1/2 West End Court.
It also may be the house Bob Dylan was reported to be looking for a few weeks ago when a neighbor called police reporting a suspicious-looking character was wandering the neighborhood. When stopped by a police officer who didn’t recognize the music legend, Dylan was supposed to have mumbled something about looking for Springsteen’s old house.
Evidently Dylan has been seeking out the former homes of music stars. ABC News reports Dylan has shown up at the childhood homes of Neil Young and John Lennon.
How much did Springsteen’s former occupancy affect the price? McLaughlin told RedBankOrbit.com that similar houses in the general area go for about $250,000, meaning The Boss connection ups the price by $49,000.
