Not All Is Sublime
Apparently there is a spot of controversy involving the former members of Sublime and the name they’ve chosen to go by.
Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh, who along with the late Bradley Nowell comprised Sublime, have been performing under their former moniker, playing Sublime songs with a new singer. But, according to one person close to the situation, the band members are finding out that sometimes it’s not so easy to use old band names.
Although Nowell died in 1996, his estate is still here and it owns the band’s trademarks, recorded music, performance rights and merchandise branding. Apparently representatives for Nowell’s estate and reps for the band will be in talks soon to hash things out.
