Wrestling Suit Body Slammed

A jury in Florida has ruled in favor of Live Nation over a breach of contract lawsuit filed by a wrestling promotion company in 2007 against a then Clear Channel-owned TV station.

Sal Corrente’s WrestleReunion LLC alleged in the suit that Clear Channel Entertainment Television entered a contract with the wrestling promoter to produce and tape WrestleReunion events on high-def equipment and market and distribute those events via pay-per-view and DVD.

However, after entering the contract, CCETV lost hours of footage at the events and never went on to market and distribute them, reportedly at a loss of more than $500,000 to WrestleReunion, the suit said.

Former World Championship Wrestling president Eric Bischoff, who was asked to testify on behalf of Live Nation but never took the stand, told Wrestlezone.com that “the case was wrapped up quickly. … The jury didn’t waste any time and came back with what I felt was the correct decision.”
