Donovan Rigging Founder Dies

Harry Donovan, founder of Donovan Rigging and a well-known rigging engineer, died from throat cancer in Seattle Sept. 23.

Donovan, 66, hung lights, sound and scenery for 22 years and, after rigging more than 200,000 points, did not have a single point failure.

Donovan authored the book “Entertainment Rigging,” founded Rigging Seminars and developed a software program called Rig Right.

He also inspected rigging accidents and was often called as an expert witness in that capacity.
