Phil’s Cuba Tour On Hold

A planned trip to Cuba by the New York Philharmonic has been put on hold over travel restrictions.

While musicians and staff got the OK to journey to the communist island Oct. 30 to Nov. 2, a group of 150 patrons who funded the event and planned to accompany the touring group were denied government clearance.

Philharmonic VP for communications Eric Latzky said the orchestra has plans to reschedule the tour should the government reconsider allowing funders to attend the cultural exchange.
