Def Leppard Cancels Tour
Def Leppard has unexpectedly pulled out of the third leg of its 2009 North American Tour with Cheap Trick less than a week before it was scheduled to begin.
A message from the band posted on its Web site says the run of dates, which was set to kick off Oct. 22 at the Reno Events Center in Nevada, was cancelled “due to unforeseen personal matters.”
“We know how truly blessed we are to have such committed fans,” the statement continued. “That’s why we’ve agonized over this decision. Even if just a single concert, we don’t take canceling shows lightly, but unfortunately life’s commitments need to be the priority.”
Reps for the band contacted by Pollstar were unavailable for further comment at this time.
Fans with tickets for any of the more than 20 shows on the schedule are advised to seek refunds at point of purchase.
