The benefit show takes place Nov. 8 at The Echoplex in Los Angeles. All proceeds from the Jam For Laura Ann show will go towards Laura Ann Masura.

Masura, a former member of Evil Beaver, Motorhome, the Prescriptions and Dime Box Band, was injured in a motorcycle accident in early September. She was hit by a car while on her way to a strawberry farm in Irvine, Calif., to collect fruit for her organic jam company, Laura Ann’s Jam.

Masura suffered multiple injuries and her left heel was so damaged that there was a possibility it might have to be amputated. She is expected to be wheelchair bound for several months. Proceeds from the show will help pay off her out-of-pocket medical bills, which are expected to exceed $15,000. Although she has surgery scheduled for Oct. 29, she says she’ll be at the show – “even if we have to wheel a bed in!”

Light FM’s Josiah Mazzaschi has organized the show’s lineup and The Echoplex’s Liz Garo has donated use of the venue.

Corgan will be performing along with Kerry Brown of Ancient Chinese Secrets and Mark Tulin of the Electric Prunes as The Backward Clock Society. The lineup also includes Light FM, The Happy Stars (featuring Brian Young and The Posies’ Joe Skyward), The Pulsars, Rutili, Golden Palominos’ Syd Straw and Pity Party. Rotary Rachel will play emcee and keep the crowd entertained by DJing between band sets.

The event will also feature a raffle, a BBQ in the back of the venue and fortunes read by Madame Patima of cult all-girl surf band the Neptunas. Laura Ann’s Jams will also be for sale.

In addition to Corgan’s performance at the benefit show, he and his band are helping out by donating two special pieces of Pumpkins memorabilia, which are being auctioned on eBay. Fans can bid on the drum kit that Jimmy Chamberlin used on 1991’s platinum Gish album and subsequent tour. The kit will be signed by both Corgan and Chamberlin. The second item is the bass guitar Corgan played at the band’s first show and used for early demos. The auctions kick off today, Oct. 21, at the official Smashing Pumpkins memorabilia ebay site.

Tickets for the Jam For Laura Ann benefit show are only $12 each. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and showtime is at 5 p.m.
