Janet Says Doc Responsible
“He was the one that was administering,” Jackson told ABC News’ Robin Roberts. “I think he was responsible.”
In an interview scheduled to air Wednesday, Jackson said Murray should be prevented from practicing medicine.
Jackson also said she thinks of her brother every day.
“It just don’t ring true to me,” Jackson said. “It felt like a dream. It’s still so difficult for me to believe.”
In another Murray development, reporters were briefly detained while the doctor left a Las Vegas courtroom yesterday following a hearing looking into his child support arrangements.
The most infamous doctor in America was in court to explain an agreement he made with a California woman to pay more than $15,000 in back child support payments. Murray had faced contempt-of-court arrest for allegedly not making the payments and for not appearing at previous hearings.
Clark Country courts spokesman Michael Sommermeyer was also among those detained but said there might have been safety and decorum issues to consider.
“They’re police officers,” Sommermeyer said. “I guess they can deem what is necessary for public safety.”
A lawyer for Associated Press wasn’t so understanding, saying the government cannot block reporters from lawfully pursuing a story.
“Whoever ordered this improper and possibly unlawful detention has some explaining to do,” AP associate general counsel Dave Tomlin said.
