GNR SK Delay

Guns N’ Roses kept their South Korean fans waiting a little longer for their first-ever concert in the country, which took place Dec. 13.

The show at the Olympic Gymnasium in Seoul was scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., but the band didn’t actually come out on stage until 9:30.

Organizer Access Entertainment told the audience the band itself requested to start the show late, though no reason was given for the delay and no exact time was specified, according to the Korea Times.

Korean hard rock band GUMX opened and played three songs.

When GNR finally came out, Axl Rose looked “tired and out of breath” after several songs, according to the newspaper, and wore shirts that “did little to hide his paunch.”

He apologized at one point for “over-singing” a song, but apparently made no apology for being late, though he did acknowledge the fact.

“Come on, tell me the truth,” he said. “You didn’t think I was coming, did you?”
