According to the Kitchener-Waterloo Record, money was at the root of the alleged dispute. Apparently Banks and his associates disagreed with the agent regarding the appearance and performance fees for a show at the Club NV in Brantford, Ontario. Per the newspaper’s account, the alleged dustup began at the club before moving to a Kitchener hotel.

Although the Record didn’t name the agent, it did say the 36-year-old man was “punched, kicked, robbed and held for an hour in the hotel room.” He was treated for head and facial injuries at a local hospital and then released.

Chris Hines of Ultimate Entertainment said he was the one assaulted. A photo of Hines after the alleged fight bundled with a phone interview conducted by HollywoodStreetKing.com was posted on YouTube.

While several news accounts referred to Hines as the promoter, during the interview Hines said he was the show’s booking agent and not the promoter.

Banks and his crew – Tyrell Cooper, Nicklas Sloane and Shaun McGee – were held in custody over the weekend. All four men are scheduled to appear in court today.
