According to London tabloid The Sun, 48-year-old Boyle, while waiting to board a plane to fly to Chicago to appear on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” surprised travelers in a Heathrow Airport VIP lounge Tuesday when she grabbed a mop from a maintenance worker and danced around the room, all the while singing into the mop as if it was a microphone. That is, when she wasn’t using the mop to shine people’s shoes.

When airline employees tried to calm Boyle down, the singer fled the terminal, yelling: “I’ve escaped, I’ve escaped!”

“It was chaos. Susan was very restless and agitated from the minute she walked in and immediately started making a scene,” The Sun quotes a source as saying. “She was singing and dancing around, shouting obscenities at full volume.”

A British Airways official finally managed to calm Boyle down and sat with the star until she boarded her flight. According to The Sun, the airline confirmed the incident did happen, but did not mention Boyle’s involvement. Instead, the airline said “a customer” was “asked to temper their behavior as it was becoming disruptive.”
