The BBC Sound of 2010 winner Ellie Goulding will get the Critics’ Choice award at the ceremony at London’s Earls Court Arena Feb. 16. Florence & the Machine will go head to head with Pixie Lott for best breakthrough act.

Goulding is up against Lily Allen for best British album, who she also faces in best British female solo artist – along with Bat For Lashes, Leona Lewis, and Pixie Lott once again. Lily Allen and Pixie Lott will also compete for best British single.

Being from the US, Lady Gaga has avoided coming up against any of the other female three-time nominees. She has a chance of winning best international female solo artist, best international breakthrough act and best international album.

JLS is the only male artist or group to collect three nominations, although Jay-Z, Dizzee Rascal, Paolo Nutini, Friendly Fires, Kasabian, Empire Of The Sun and Animal Collective all have two each.

So does Robbie Williams, who will perform at the ceremony and may even end up with three gongs. He’s already been announced as the winner of the outstanding contribution to music award.

The Brit Awards will be screened live to millions on ITV1.
