CAA’s J Brand

Creative Artists Agency and Irving Place Capital, partners in Star Avenue Capital, have reportedly acquired a majority stake in Los Angeles denim company J Brand.

Mark Genender, Star Avenue Capital’s managing director, said in a statement that growing companies like J Brand partnered with the entertainment industry makes sense.

“We have direct access to CAA’s extensive resources and expertise across multiple … areas including marketing, branding, lifestyle and consumer research,” Genender said. “We are confident that J Brand’s ongoing commitment to its product and customers, coupled with Star’s differentiated approach, will result in a long and successful partnership.”

And it doesn’t hurt that the upscale J Brand has a lot of celebrity clients such as Gwen Stefani, Victoria Beckham, Cameron Diaz and Jessica Alba.
