Tokyo’s Swift Embrace

Taylor Swift was reportedly blown away by the reception she received in Japan when she played one show in Tokyo in February.

Japan isn’t usually very open to country music, but Universal Music’s concerted push combined with Swift’s teen appeal made for a perfect storm, and on April 5 she was added to the headliners’ list for August’s Summer Sonic rock festival.

Also added lower down on the roster were Nas, Delphic and the Eels.

At that other festival, John Fogerty will make his first concert appearance in Japan in 38 years at the Fuji Rock Festival in July.

Also added to the lineup were Ash, Diane Birch, moe. and Mad Professor.
