Willie’s Band Facing Drug Charges

A North Carolina district attorney has announced he’ll prosecute six members of Willie Nelson’s band on alcohol and drug charges.

Authorities seized various substances on Nelson’s tour bus in January and charged six band members with possession of either marijuana or untaxed liquor before a concert Nelson eventually postponed because of an injured hand. Nelson wasn’t on the bus when the alleged contraband was seized.

Duplin County District Attorney Dewey Hudson said the substances were being tested at a state crime lab during a press conference April 9.

Although Hudson has received criticism for pursuing the case, the prosecutor said he wants to show celebrities are not above the law.
