Ain’t Nuttin’ But Surgery For Michaels

Bret Michaels is taking it easy for the next few days. The Poison frontman was stricken with appendicitis Sunday night, resulting in a late-night trip to surgery.

Michaels, who is currently on a solo tour, was to perform in San Antonio Sunday night. However, after spending the day suffering from severe stomach pains, the singer / reality TV star was taken to a local hospital shortly before show time where surgeons yanked the misfiring organ early Monday morning.

According to the artist’s Web site, Michaels remains in the hospital.

As to his touring schedule, the Web site says he will have to reschedule some dates, but isn’t yet specific on which ones, only saying a revised itinerary will be posted soon. Michaels was scheduled to play Baton Rouge on Wednesday and Fort Smith, Ark., Thursday.

You gotta hand it Michaels’ representatives for spinning appendicitis into something somewhat positive for their rock star master. When announcing Michaels’ surgery and the possibility of rescheduled dates, they took the opportunity to remind us he’s faced worst predicaments than a malfunctioning appendix

From BretMichaels.com:

“Michaels who has been known to perform under extreme conditions that would make most performers cancel, will unfortunately have no choice but to reschedule some of his April tour dates. A listing of all dates being rescheduled will be posted to his Web site in the coming days.”

Hmmm… Could that remark about Michaels performing “under extreme conditions” include stage props falling on top of the rock star?
