Michaels’ Father: Bret Is Talking

Bret Michaels’ father, Wally Sychak, talked to “Extra” and his son is doing well, if still a little tired.

“Well, the fact that he was talking to me, and giving me information, I thought that was great,” Sychak told “Extra.” “I understood that this was a terrible ordeal that he was going through. We’re not getting information right now. I guess no news is good news.”

Asked how Michaels sounded on the phone, Sychak responded, “He sounded a little slow, but fine. He was talking, not as cheerful as he usually is. But I guess he is under sedation. But he understood what he was saying and knew me. Everything seemed good that way.”

Michaels was rushed to an undisclosed hospital April 22 after complaining of a severe headache. Doctors discovered bleeding at the base of his brain stem and the Poison frontman remains in intensive care after suffering a brain hemorrhage.

Meanwhile, Michaels’ dates through May 21 are being rescheduled.  At this time the rocker’s next scheduled appearance is May 26 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, at Neumeier’s Rib Room.
