There could be another veteran performer in Las Vegas, according to the rumor mill – but he’s going to miss a lot of Lakers games.

Neil Diamond is in talks with Caesars Palace for a residency, according to the Las Vegas Advisor, and has attended shows like Garth Brooks at the Wynn to get a feel for it.

This would jibe with something Barry Manilow said recently, telling Spinner he’s recommended to Rod Stewart and Diamond they should consider a gig like his at the Paris.

As for Diamond’s people, they are not confirming it – but they’re not denying it, either.
