If you’re not familiar with this rockin’ one man band, allow Tom Waits to introduce you:

“He’s this little kid – nobody even knows how old he is – wears a motorcycle helmet and he has a microphone inside of it and he puts the glass over the front so you can’t see his face, and plays slide guitar,” Waits told Time Out London. “It’s just the loudest strangest stuff you’ve ever heard. You don’t understand one word he’s saying. I like people who glue macaroni on to a piece of cardboard and paint it gold. That’s what I aspire to basically.”

Log provides his own introduction on the track “One Man Bomb” from his 2003 album Log Bomb. “On cymbals, left foot,” Log sings, according to pixelsurgeon.com. “Over here on the bass drum we got right foot. Shut up! This is my left hand that does all the slide work, right hand does the pickin’. My mouth hole does most o’ the talkin’.”

The singer/guitarist/drummer, who performs in a cannonball man jumpsuit, is touring in support of his most recent album, 2009’s My Sh*t Is Perfect.

The tour, which marks Log’s first dates of 2010, kicks off May 13 at Echo Curio in Echo Park, Calif., and wraps up Aug. 8 at Larimer Lounge in Denver.

Additional dates include Club Aruba in Las Vegas (June 11), Urban Lounge in Salt Lake City (June 19), The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto (July 24), Thunderbird Café in Pittsburgh (July 27) and Schubas Tavern in Chicago (Aug. 4).
