Clarence Back At It

Clarence Clemons isn’t letting major surgeries keep him completely off stage.

The E Street Band saxophonist, recovering from Jan. 13 spinal surgery, performed May 8 at Hard Rock Café in Florida for a children’s charity.

The self-described “Energizer Bunny” said dealing with the pain and depression that’s part of his recovery has made him more determined to work through it.

Clemons also went through double knee replacement surgery in 2009 but still performed at the Super Bowl with Bruce Springsteen, despite needing a wheelchair.
