Although O’Brien revealed virtually nothing about his new TBS show – other than the fact that it will debut November 8 and be the lead-in for “Lopez Tonight” – he proved that he’s been using his downtime to sharpen his already razor-like wit, according to Entertainment Weekly’s Lynette Rice.

Of course, the principal target at today’s event was his old bosses at NBC.

“The plot to ‘Lost’ is more plausible than my last year at NBC,” O’Brien quipped before going on to praise his new television family, cable. “I really believe in cable television. I do not want to live in a country with less than five ESPN networks.”

Questions about the show’s format were met with equally wise-ass remarks.

“My vision is to pick up where ‘Hee Haw’ left off,” the comedian and writer said and then sang “I just want to be on my show again” to the tune of “On the Road Again.”
