Sting Eyes Euro Conquest

Sting’s worldwide march across the globe presenting symphonic renditions of his own catalog as well as Police songs heads across the pond come September.

The “Symphonicities” tour, named after the CD of the same name, features Sting performing with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra conducted by Steven Mercurio. Touring the U.S. and Canada this summer, the first announced Euro dates following the North America run are Sept. 3 in Oslo at Konserthus, followed by Sept. 5 in Copenhagen at Royal Theatre, Oct. 1 in London at Royal Albert Hall, Oct. 5 in Newcastle at Sage Hall, Oct. 25 in Florence at Teatro Verdi, Nov. 2 in Milan at Teatro Arcimboldi and Nov. 10 in Rome at Santa Cecilia.

The Oct. 5 Newcastle show marks Sting’s return to his ol’ hometown and will feature the artist performing with the Northern Sinfonia Orchestra.

Obviously, there are some gaps in the routing, but tour plans also include September dates yet to be announced for Stockholm, Helsinki, Berlin, Cologne and Paris, October gigs in Dublin, Nantes, Antwerp, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Stuttgart, and November stops in Turin and Vienna.
