Mastodon Cancels European Tour

European fans of Mastodon will have to wait a little longer to see the heavy metal band in action as it cancels its European outing scheduled to begin June 5 in Germany.

A medical malady – pancreatitis – has stricken band member Bill Kelliher and doctors have advised the guitarist to continue medical treatment. Although the band was forced to cancel its European tour, doctors expect a full recovery in the weeks ahead.

Kelliher should have plenty of time for rest and treatments. The band’s next run of dates begins Sept. 16 when it joins Alice In Chains and Deftones in Chicago for the start of the BlackDiamondSkye tour.
