Strange Faces Play Goodwood
The Faces are set to play the Vintage At Goodwood festival in England in August with Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall on vocals.
NME doesn’t say if Rod Stewart’s diary precluded him from performing or he’d decided not to be part of this sort of reunion.
The other strange Face in the lineup is former Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock, who is in place of the band’s late bassist Ronnie Lane.
The rest of the lineup comprises original members Ronnie Wood, Kenney Jones and Ian McLagan.
“We got together to receive a PRS Lifetime Achievement award last year and very simply the magic was still there,” Wood explained. “Playing with the boys again just felt right so we thought well why not? It’s exciting to be on this path again and I hope that the Faces fans are excited as we are. I’m just really looking forward to seeing them this summer – bring it on.”
The other vintage acts playing Goodwood Aug. 13-15 include Sandie Shaw, Buzzcocks, Aswad, Wanda Jackson, Mike Flowers Pops, Earth Wind & Fire, Martha And The Vandellas, Roy Wood’s Rock ’n’ Roll Orchestra, Kid Creole And The Coconuts, and Alvin Stardust.
