Cube Owner Charged

Maurizio Rao, owner of Australian gay nightclub Cube, was charged by NSW police with conspiring to sell an indictable quantity of cocaine.

The 34-year-old, out on bail, faces charges in Downing Centre Local Court in Sydney July 5.

Rao made news in 2006 when he was charged with murdering David Nato Seula, 23.

Seula and four friends were refused entry because they were heavily intoxicated.

A brawl began, and Seula was fatally stabbed. Rao was acquitted of all charges, with the judge agreeing he had been acting on self-defense.
