For Those About To Be Late

Aussie rockers AC/DC were forced to play a shortened set at Olso’s Valle Hovin Stadium May 30 after the plane they chartered for the flight from Berlin broke down before takeoff.

The band had to switch aircraft and the delay meant it didn’t land in the Norwegian capital until stage time, although it took only another 45 minutes to reach the stadium and start the show.

Live Nation Norway chief Rune Lem was able to extend the curfew by 25 minutes, which meant the 40,000 fans who snapped up all the tickets weeks ago still got a 100-minute set.

Lem says he hasn’t received any complaints or heard of anyone wanting a refund.

The UK’s Classic Rock magazine pointed out the act didn’t actually get to play “For Those About To Rock,” and invited its presumably more avid readers to think of any other occasion the band hasn’t included the song in its live show since the song was released in 1981.

AC/DC will be in the UK to headline the first night of the Download Festival June 11.
