Ozzy Wants To Hear You Scream

Ozzy Osbourne’s screaming antics aren’t over yet. After scaring museum patrons at Madame Tussauds last month by posing as one of the wax statues, tomorrow the heavy metal singer hopes all of Dodger Stadium screams along with him as he attempts to break the Guinness World Record for longest and loudest scream.

The scream fest goes down in the middle of the 5th inning of Friday’s Los Angeles Dodgers game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Ozzy takes the field at 7:10 p.m. to lead the crowd in “Scream for a Cure” as part of the third annual ThinkCure! Weekend. Stuart Claxton of Guinness World Records will be there and the stadium’s collective scream will be measured in length and audio level.

ThinkCure! was founded in 2007 by the Los Angeles Dodgers, the McCourt family, City of Hope and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The non-profit raises funds “to accelerate collaborative research to cure cancers.”

Fans will get the chance to donate to the cause through photo opportunities with former Dodger stars and alumni, bidding in the ThinkCure! online auction and by texting CURE to 50555 to make a $10 donation through their mobile phone bill. A telethon is also being broadcast June 11-12 on FSN Prime Ticket with radio stations KABC 790 AM.  95.5 KLOS FM and KHJ FM hosting a radiothon.

Ozzy’s wife Sharon Osbourne, a cancer survivor herself, is joining in on the ThinkCure! Weekend by recording a promotional message that will air during the game as well as the telethon and online.

The “Scream for a Cure” is a two-for-one for Ozzy. In addition to supporting the ThinkCure! Weekend, the world record attempt is also a promotion for Ozzy’s new album, Scream, which features the hit single “Let Me Hear You Scream.”

The album is set for release June 22 and available for pre-order through Ozzy’s website.
