Sillerman Officially Interested

Robert F.X. Sillerman made his interest in acquiring CKX official by notifying the Securities and Exchange Commission of his intent to pursue a larger stake of the company of which he is a 20 percent stakeholder.

He told the SEC he plans to increase his holdings through private purchases or a public tender offer and that he is in talks with a “private financing source” to back it all, according to the Los Angeles Times.

CKX is the parent company of “American Idol” producer 19 Entertainment and has a majority ownership of all things Elvis and the licensing rights to the name and image of Muhammad Ali.

Also believed to be in the horse race for CKX are AI creator Simon Fuller, Irving Azoff, Allen Shapiro and One Equity Partners.
