Mark Mays Steps Down
Mark Mays has announced he is stepping down as CEO of Clear Channel Communications at the end of the year, but will remain its chairman.
It is “the end of an era” because Mark is the last of the Mays family involved in the daily operations of the company, Radio Ink publisher Eric Rhoads noted.
The “era” was significant, and controversial, because of Mark’s successful contribution to the consolidation of radio broadcasting.
Mays has served as chairman of Clear Channel since last year and as president and CEO since Oct. 2004.
A replacement is expected to be named later this year.
