Asian Acts Getting 3D

Taiwanese rock band Mayday announced in late May that it would be involved in a $3 million 3D concert movie to be filmed at the end of July in Taichung, the last stop of the group’s 2009-2010 world tour.

The film, which is being sponsored by Taiwan-based Double Edge Entertainment, will open in early 2011.

Also, J-pop diva Kumi Koda will be the subject of the first live 3D broadcast in Japan. Koda’s July 4 concert at Yokohama Arena will be broadcast on the satellite service SkyPerfecTV, which is already offering a full-time 3D channel.
