Halifax Rocks Lightens Lineup

The July 23-24 Halifax Rocks concert at the Halifax Commons will rock a little less this year after a recent announcement pulled the plug on the first day of the fest.

Kid Rock, Counting Crows, Daughtry, Tonic and two Nova Scotia acts – the Stanfields and the Jimmy Swift Band – were set to take to the stage July 23, but the show was canned over “scheduling difficulties.”

“We truly regret that fans of these artists will not get to see them this year, and also we apologize for the disruption and inconvenience this may cause,” promoter Harold MacKay said in a statement.

The Stanfields and the Jimmy Swift Band will now join the July 24 lineup, which includes Black Eyed Peas, Weezer, Classified, Hot Hot Heat, Rich Aucoin and Chad Hatcher.

Fans were given the option to use their tickets for the July 24 show or obtain refunds.
