AEG Not Done With Middle East

In what AEG is touting as a partnership, the company has announced it will close its Middle East office, while its staff will join a Dubai-based company and maintain a relationship with AEG.

AEG Middle East managing director Thomas Ovesen will join Done Events along with other key AEG staff, the company announced July 7. Done Events is a subsidiary of Arab Media Group and has produced events mostly for the Dubai government.

Rob Hallett, AEG president of International Touring, applauded the announcement, saying, “AEG Live is delighted to be building on its successes to date in the Middle East in a strong new partnership with Done Events.”

Ovesen added to that sentiment, saying, “It makes sense for us to merge our unique expertise in this market, making Done Events the market leader. It is a perfect partnership.”

Ovesen started in the region 10 years ago with Mirage Promotions.
