Former Jannus Operator Sentenced

John “Jack” Bodziak, the former operator of the Jannus Landing concert venue in St. Petersburg, Fla., will be spending some time in the Graybar Hotel, having been sentenced to pay restitution and spend 21 months in prison on charges of failing to pay sales tax and bouncing checks.

After his prison term, Bodziak will spend the next 20 years on probation and work to pay off more than $125,000 of the nearly $300,000 he is believed to have racked up, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Bodziak reportedly was remorseful, and the probation and restitution requirement will give him “an opportunity to do what he’s wanted to do all along and pay the money back,” according to attorney Donald Anderson.
