Maack Sweet On Summerjam
German promoter Klaus Maack reckons this year’s Summerjam was the best in the event’s history, made even better by a reconfiguration of the Cologne site that upped the capacity to 28,000.
It was its 25th anniversary and it sold out in advance. Apart from two hours of rain on the second day, the crowd on the Fühlinger See island enjoyed the sort of weather that’s usually associated with many of the artists’ Jamaican homeland.
The acts having fun by the Fühlinger See July 2-4 included Gentleman, Toots & The Maytals, Damian Marley, Gil Scott-Heron and Inner Circle.
