Pacers Strike Indy Deal

The NBA’s Indiana Pacers might not be speeding out of the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis so soon.

The team has reached a deal with local officials to stay in the arena for at least the next three seasons while the city pays $10 million annually to subsidize operations, plus an additional $3.5 million in fieldhouse improvements. If the team leaves after three seasons, it will be on the hook for $30 million, but the amount decreases each season thereafter.

The deal falls atop an existing contract that says the team will play in the venue through 2019.
