Simmons Stuff Sold

Yard sales are often a last-ditch effort to squeeze some change out of the well-loved junk lining one’s closets, but how often do you get to finger through the well-loved junk of a celebrity?

A recent sale at the Saddle River, N.J., estate of Russell Simmons and his former wife, Kimora Lee Simmons, gave fans the chance to purchase everything from top-dollar furs and bling to coffee mugs.

Highlights on the top end included a $200,000 bed once owned by Gianni Versace, a $100,000 Faith Ringgold painting and $12,000 Persian rugs and pool tables.

And for the bargain basement shoppers, the sale reportedly featured an eclectic assortment of knickknacks such as a piggy bank with red feathers for $25 and chintzy Christmas ornaments for $5.

The house itself was also on the market for $13.9 million, down from a reported original asking price of $23.8 million.
