It’s been a busy year for the guitarist.  Along with playing in Chickenfoot with Van Halen alumni Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony plus Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, Satriani recently re-created his 2002 performance of the “Star Spangled Banner” for “Moneyball,” an upcoming movie about the Oakland A’s starring Brad Pitt.

Based on the 2003 novel “Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game” the film details A’s management’s efforts to use stats and computer-generated analysis to build a winning ball club. Satriani played America’s National Anthem for the A’s season opener in 2002 and returned to the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Aug. 3 to film his scene of movie magic.

The axe-slinger’s world tour begins with previously announced dates in the U.K. and Europe beginning Oct. 16 in Dublin at Vicar Street and running through Nov. 22 in Lisbon at Campo Pequeno.

Just announced is the North American leg, launching at Atlanta’s Center Stage Dec. 1. Other stops include House Of Blues in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., Dec. 3; Cincinnati at the Aronoff Center For The Arts Dec. 7; Toronto at Massey Hall Dec. 8; Boston’s House Of Blues Dec. 9; Upper Darby, Pa., at Tower Theatre Dec. 10 and New York City at Nokia Theatre Dec. 13-14.

Satriani & Co. also touches down in Pompano Beach, North Bethesda, Detroit, Cleveland Chicago, Kansas City and Denver and promise more dates will be announced shortly.

Coming up a bit sooner are a couple of Chickenfoot dates – Sept. 10 in Indio, Calif., at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino & Special Events Center Sept. 10 and Stateline, Nev., at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena Sept. 11.
