G-20 To Coincide With Asian Song Fest

The Asian Song Festival will take place Oct. 23 in Seoul to commemorate the first G-20 Summit to be held on mainland Asia.

Actor Jackie Chan has been named as the honorary chair of the festival, proceeds of which will be donated to UNICEF for children in flood-affected Pakistan.

“I’ve been trying to do this kind of peace concert for many years,” Chan said during a Seoul press conference for the event. The headliner for the festival is the Korean pop diva BoA, who recently announced she would soon make her Hollywood acting debut.

Also in the lineup is Chinese superstar Jane Zhang, Taiwanese entertainer Joe Cheng and Malaysian singer-songwriter Michael Wong.

Fifteen teams from seven countries will participate in the contest, which will be held at Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul.
The Asia Song Festival was launched in 2004.
