A tad larger than the Max Weinberg 7 that debuted as Conan O’Brien’s house band when the funny guy took over NBC’s “Late Night” show in 1993, the 15-piece Max Weinberg Big Band consists of a three-piece rhythm section as well as a horn section including five saxophones, four trumpets and three trombones.

Staying true to his New Jersey roots, Weinberg and the band play a date in Asbury Park at the Stone Pony Sept. 10. However, the real traveling begins with Buffalo’s UB Center For The Arts Oct. 8 followed by Syracuse’s Music Industry Conference at the Oncenter Oct. 9 and Harrisburg, Pa., at The Whitaker Center Oct. 12.

Other stops include Washington, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Ann Arbor, Chicago, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Kansas City and Nashville before wrapping back in New Jersey at the South Orange’s Performing Arts Center Nov. 6.
