‘Not Guilty’ Says Neil (By Proxy)

Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil pleaded not guilty today in Las Vegas to misdemeanor drunk driving and speeding charges.

Actually, it was Neil’s lawyer who did the pleading. The singer wasn’t actually required to appear in court so he sent his legal beagle, Richard Schonfeld, in his place.

This particular legal episode in Neil’s life began June 27 when Las Vegas police stopped the rocker for allegedly driving his Lamborghini 50 mph in a 45 mph zone. Neil is accused of driving while having a blood alcohol content of 0.08, which depending on a person’s weight, could result from having as little as one drink to as many as four or five good belts.

Trial was set for Jan. 6.
