Civil Retrial Set In Jackson Videotaping Case
A retrial date has been set in a Los Angeles civil case brought by two lawyers against a defunct charter jet company and its owner over the secret videotaping of Michael Jackson and his attorneys during a 2003 flight.
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Wednesday set a new trial date of Feb. 14 in the invasion of privacy suit brought by Mark Geragos and Pat Harris.
The attorneys were awarded a multimillion-dollar judgment against XtraJet’s owner Jeffrey Borer in March 2008, but that decision was overturned by an appeals court in January and lawyers for Geragos asked for a new trial rather than accept a reduced award.
Borer and an associate previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy in a criminal case.
